2 weeks down, 16 to go!
244 pounds.
First of all let me start with saying my eating has been pretty damn good. A few days went over the 2 lbs per week but that was because of company in town for the weekend, or a rest day in my training schedule. Both of these were expected. Otherwise I have done very well.
My body has taken time to adjust but hopefully it is starting to even out. I was 245 2 weeks ago, 248 last week, and 244 this morning. A lot of that has to do with water retention from the training and muscle building. The weight isnt that much of an issue as long as my graphs look good and my workouts are going better, and they are.

I would be lying if I said this hasnt been hard, but its been getting better. For any workout routine it takes a good two weeks to get used to it. My workouts are slowly getting longer but I can tell I am adjusting. Waking up at 630am isnt a problem and in general getting up earlier has been the norm. I have only missed one workout and that was the very first swim due to daylight savings time and setting my alarm an hour late on accident. Anyways, here is what I have done so far.

The distances and times are slightly deceiving as they all include a warm up and cooldown. For example all the run times include 20 min of warm up and cool down. The first week I also commuted by bike to work (12mi total) each day, but I ended up breaking my bike frame and am waiting on warranty so I am unable to do that for a while.
Working out has helped a ton with getting over my ex-GF. At least when I am tired from the gym my mine is clear. Ill probably join match.com once my 1/2 ironman is over. For the next 16 weeks though, its time to focus on me.

The Plan
I signed up for a 1/2 Ironman for July 15th on Aug. 31 2011. I planned on starting a base training Jan/Feb then an 18wk intense program. Well breaking my wrist killed that. I has actually just started running when I broke my wrist. While trying to determine how I want to approach my weight loss I looked up a program and counted out the 18 wks to my race. Umm... 18 weeks is Monday! This is not how I planned on starting my training, but there is no better time than the present. I am obviously not going to do exactly what is suggested. I plan on biking to and from work also, but on days that I am not supposed to be biking I will take care to take it super easy. I also have hockey. Hockey will just have to be added into the schedule, meaning some days are going to be super hard. I wont have to worry about hockey for 6 weeks though since that is when I am cleared to play. Here is week one for ya.

The numbers next to the swim mean the following.

The bikes and runs for the first 4 weeks include a warm up and cool down. For hour periods it is expected that you warm up for 15 min and cool down for at least 5. Based on my running so far I know that I can do this. The long bikes are going to be interesting though. 35 miles is a long damn bike.
Now, what do I hope to do with my weight? 2 pounds a week. With this amount of exercise it is very possible. I know it is. I just need to focus. If i can keep on track I do not think that this is out of the realm of possibility. At 2 pounds a week I will be 210 by race day. I would like to be lower but that isnt reasonable, if it happens thats cool, but I think 210 is hard enough.

Here We Go Again
Thursday will be two years since I started this... I am up 35 pounds from last year. As of this morning I am 248 pounds. This was confusing since last Monday was 244 and I had a pretty good week. I just assume that weigh in was abnormally low for some reason.

I dont plan on writing daily, weekly, or monthly. I am focused on losing weight again and finishing my 1/2 ironman. The ironman is going to be hard. I was laid up for 6 weeks because of my wrist surgery then hurt myself the first week back trying to push too hard. So I am now 8 weeks out and just getting back in the swing of things.
Another reason for posting again is that there has been a huge change for me. Those who read my twitter know what that is. I broke up with my GF of 4 1/2 months. She had too many issues. I gave her too many chances to begin with and when I finally decided it was enough she asked for another. I think the only reason I lasted as long as I did with her is because I loved having a GF, I now dont think I actually loved her. She was also a bad health influence on me. She would make fun of me when I ordered healthy, didnt workout, and drank a ton. Anyways, I am back and going to be posting as many times as I feel fit. Who knows how often that will be but I dont want it to be a chore like it was beginning to become before.

Day 681
Sorry to say I am taking a break from writing anything. I am most likely having surgery on Thursday on my wrist so typing is hard. I broke my wrist playing hockey. I promise to be back when I can type with two hands.

Day 670
Got a run in today. I was 243 last time I weighed myself which was like December 30th. This is good because Christmas killed me last year. I refuse to make new years resolutions but I am focusing on hitting the gym more especially with it being too cold/snowy to bike to work anymore. Also my 1/2 ironman isnt that far away so i need to make sure I am ready.
Sorry I unplugged for the holidays. I have some plans on what I am going to be posting in the new year so stay tuned. My 1/2 ironman is going to take a lot of discipline so I am going to do something with that.

Day 654
245

It really wasnt that bad of a week. I was up 2 pounds but just had 3 so-so days. Maybe it was the previous week catching up with me. Nothing I can do about it now. This is not what i needed going into the Christmas weekend.
I do need to get to the gym more often, especially since my biking is done for a few months because of the ice and snow. I should have biked today, but didnt realize it was going to be 40. Tomorrow calls for snow/rain along with wednesday then i am home so i am not planning on biking. I dont mind the rain in 50+ degrees but below that... eww.
I can do better, I will do better.
